eBay (of all places) has a useful page about detecting fake trade dollars. It's at eBay Guides - Coin Fake Detection - Valid Trade Dollar Types

Scroll down to the text "Now, apply what you just learned. Is this coin a fake?" Check out, inter alia, where the arrows end. I'm not much of a rare coin guy so I'll let you make the call. What I can say is that I wish I'd known this before I brought home three fakes from Vietnam. I've seen at least two others since then. Worst case, you've found a very interesting addition to your display or collection and you paid a lot less than I did.

It is not a seated dollar, it is a "Trade" dollar. I cannot put my finger on it but something does not look right about it. As stated above, this is probably the most "Faked" coin in the history of the world. I hope yours checks out all right.
