almost forgot large cent

Almost forgot this find today...found it at the old hotel site, what is left of an old large cent...crying shame someone did this to it.. They didn;t even spare the date when they hacked it all up....looks like they were trying to use it as a fuse in a fuse box.

To bad they did that to the coin. I've found them with up to 3 holes in them. They must have been good for a cheap fix on alot of things. They are a solid piece of copper bronze.

But how many people can say they got a large cent that looks like yours.

Ouch I would love to find a large cent. Unfortunately one I would find would probably be like this. Yes it's sure a shame.

But then again I think back of when I was a kid and even older and think of the things I destroyed (baseball cards..bottles) see their value now and gotta say DOH!!

Post...I hear you about the baseball cards...I was and am a Red Sox fan (am a gluttant for punishment ) I cringe when I think of all the Yankee cards I put in the spokes of my bike...those Mickey Mantle rookie cards made a great sound as the ran thru the spokes....

Wow a square large cent! Never found one of those. Mine usually just have holes in them.
