So i decided to go detecting today with my dad up at my grandmas hunting camp somewhere in the u.p of Michigan. well he had a nice deep signal with the delta 4000, i came over to see what was going on and i seen a chunk of iron showing from the bottom of the hole. a couple minutes later we got it out. this axe head weights at least two pounds, made of iron i believe. its about 9 inches long and about 4 inches across. it was about 10 inches in the ground right next to the corn field. i wanna say this axe was used to cut timber none the less, im just wondering if anyone has found a similar one or maybe has an idea how old it might be.
