Ive been hunting a very brushy cellar hole site with my small coil, I wouldve taken pictures of the site but its too overgrown with prickers. I did find a nice complete William Barton pedal bell, early 1800s a barrel tap, the decrative handle and the dated pat. plate were found in the same hole. Also found one flower and one eagle button and an 1859 indian. This indian rang in as solid square tab, I think its because thier first year with no shield has a slight nickel content. The king George Copper was a good 7" down. it took a good peroxide bath before I could even tell what this thing was. Besides my CT Copper from last year, this may be my oldest coin

Is the bung tap made of brass? It's a classic -- and possibly of the Federal Period. Must have sounded off pretty strong.

yes its solid brass, about 3inches long. it rang in solid and deep as a coin at 6+ inches.
