Hi All,
During the last couple days extra low tides
I've been out hunting an area that my friend theorizes a 17th C wreck took place.
The wreck was recorded, but exact location is not known
Several items found in the vicinity date to the era.
He had previously found a large Onion bottle, This one is small, a little over 5" high,
black glass with orange staining, dates around 1700.
Also a DR. / KILMER?S / SWAMP / ROOT / KIDNEY / LIVER & . BLADDER / REMEDY // DR. KILMER & CO. // BINGHAMTON, N.Y, Note Kidney embossed around text...
Small Disinfectant Bottle,
And a Deep Punt Green Wine Bottle.
These are my glass finds, I'll post my metal finds soon....( some good ones! )
Thanks for looking& HH Everyone!!
Don't know why my pix aren't in the order I attached them ???

That onion is truly a banner find, congrats. :hello2:
I have been diving for 35 years+ and bottle diving for 23 years and have yet to find an intact OB. New Hampshire is not that far from Nova Scotia so there is still hope for me.
Keep us posted on theat site, I am sure there are more great finds there.

Nice Bottle Herbie, if I done Banner Votes still it would get one but lost faith in the banner over the years so don't do the votes anymore myself. But it's a great find none the less.I searched many years before I found mine.It wasn't a onion but what's 20 years when dealing with a glass object that's survived the elements for three hundred years.:icon_scratch:

Thanks Pete, Buckles & Crusader,
Pete, that is a stunning bottle you found :o
I think this is going to be a great site, esp during those Xlow tides,
I searched there today for 30 minutes at mid tide, Smooth copper, pewter handle, pewter floral button.

AND a 'Bartmann Jug' fragment, Early stuff here!
"A Bartmann jug (from German Bartmann, "bearded man"), also called Bellarmine jug, is a type of decorated stoneware that was manufactured in Europe throughout the 16th and 17th centuries, The image of the bearded face is believed to have originated in the mythical wild man creature, popular in northern European folklore from the 14th century"
HH & thanks to everyone for your comments!

Well thats funny, that German Bellarmine is another one high on my collecting list & they are so expensive, even restored that I can't afford to buy one.

Hi Breezie, JGas, Coop and Cru,
thanks for your comments !!!!
Crusader, that is the 2nd Bellarmine fragment recovered here.

The man who researched the site has a top with the entire bearded face medallion intact.
If i hadn't seen his, I wouldn't have known the signficance, I would have kept it as an interesting piece though...
(for those not familiar, the faces are a separate piece attached to the jug)
more history, was told Bellarmine resembled the 'wild man':
"
The popular alternative name "Bellarmine" is recorded earliest in 1634, and is in popular tradition associated with the cardinal Robert Bellarmine (1542-1621), a fierce opponent of Protestantism in the Low Countries and northern Germany. The reason for the association with Bellarmino is not entirely clear but was possibly conceived by Dutch and English Protestants to ridicule the cardinal.[SUP][4][/SUP] Another possibility is his anti-alcohol stance
" Best Digs everyone !!
