Wow i cant believe i just found my first half dollar, and its a Seated one at that!!! Went to work this morning finished a job from yesterday, got soaked, so i descided to go metal detecting. A few hours went by with nothing in my bag but a bunch of shootgun shells, horse shoes, and bottle tops. Then i finally came across my first wheat penny for the year, my 5th since i started detecting, a 1939. I then made my way towards the back of the property, walked deep in the thicket and decided to turn around before i get lost in there. As i was working my way back to the corner post i came acrossed a good signal and 2 inches down was the 1855 Seated Half Dollar! My first Half, second silver ever, second 1800's coin ever.

Great find! My first half dollar was a seated as well. Yours beat mine in age by a year. Congrats on a great coin! They don't get much better than that!

Thank you, i had no idea it was even going to be a coin it was raining and i had a bag over the 250 so i was just going by sound, i had been digging trash all day. I first thought it was a telephone pole tag or a cow ear tag, but then i saw the date and the seated Liberty, then holycrap a Seated liberty half!

I hate to tell you this but that half is obsolete send it to me and I will send you a nice clad one with orange paint all over it. You pay shipping both ways naturally. That thing is the silver of a lifetime I am green with happiness for you!
