I started following the advice of the experts here and began digging every signal. I found a few more unusual things like a gear from a pocket watch - i think - and some other things. But yesterday on my lunch break while digging at the park, when I was just about ready to go back to work I found this - a 14 k gold ring - my BIGGEST find so far. Now I reallly have the fever !!!!!!!

Wonderful ring Ivy! I too dig nearly everything if its a good signal. Ever since I dug a penny that turned out to be a ring I find it hard to pass up a penny or nickel signal. I've passed on them then went back and dug them cuz I'm a worry wart. I find myself thinking, "What if that was a ring?" haha Congrats.

looks like aligator skin... I would dig a repeatable signals not just solid ones because alot of rings and chain give a sputtery signal......

I agree, I don't ever pass up the sputtering ones. They could be chains, small pendents or gold earrings. Awesome ring.

Wow! I just noticed how old this post was.
