OK all,

I must have really did something great for the MDing / Treasure Hunting Gods because today and a few days ago they really smiled on me.

Today I was driving along in a local town and saw a pile of furniture, appliances and other things stacked outside this house. They looked like they were for trash pickup so I stopped. To my surprise there were people still moving a few things out of the house.

Now what a surprise it was to see that one of the people was a guy I used to hang out with in high school. He bought this house and was cleaning it out for trash pick up tomorrow. He bought the house for resale of course. So after we exchange some stories about how its been since we last saw each other about 15 or so years ago, plus getting me to give him so free labor helping him carry out more torn up furniture (place was looted) LoL, I have to ask can I MD the place. He says sure.

Now as teenagers we were always trying to put each other down and get the best of each other. He said that I should start by looking in the house. No MDing in there though and tearing out the floors wall he said. As I was getting ready to look in the house he said to look just inside the door. THere was some collectibles of value there I could have. I looked inside the door and could not see anything of value. I peered back out and asked him what he was talking about. He said "Right by the door man, Pepsi, Coca Cola, collectibles. I look back inside and see just a few aluminum cans. I look back outside and he is holding up a back. "Collect them and about 10,000 more and you will have value he laughed". I gotta give him credit on that one that was pretty funny and him and his friends were still laughing as I left.

I have not MDed the place yet, but I did find a great looking Tin inside the house. I quickly peered inside and it had candy in it. He explained to me that the lady that lived there died and no heirs could be found. Eventually the city took over the place and sold it to him at auction.

Anyways after a few more stories I leave needing to get home and start supper. When I got home and removed the candy out of this tin OMG OMG OMG stopped my heart nearly.

I will be following this post with pics of what is inside of this Tin along with a last post of a yard sale buy I made a few days before.

Thank you for reading,

Postalrevnant

You reckon it was my good karma somehow or his bad karma with the joke?

Cool story. Your friend - what a wise guy. :D

Nice little jewelry cache! ;D Glad you rescued it.

What about the Metal Detecting - did you get a chance to search the yard?

love these types of stories cause they happen so much and yet people still let it happen by not checking every little place..

CONGRATS and who has the last laugh now.... That will be hard for him to beat that one. LOL LOL

Yes he was a little bit of a wiseguy, but I had it coming. In high school it was usually me making him look bad. He has improved on common sense and his abilities. Used to be his comebacks were nothing, but I have to admit the part about the aluminum cans was pretty funny.

Too bad he is never gonna know who got the last laugh :)

I wish. I was inside tapping the floor to see if anything was loose. I also went back later that night and went through all the stuff that was laid out in the yard for trash pick up. Did not find anything else.

Thank you Bobby. You and others gave me the grit to stick it through when I was pretty much not finding anything, plus had lots of other things going on.

I thank you and all of those who provided inspiration, seems to be paying off lately. I realize this will cycle for a bit and go slow, but I now know the potential so "ITS a LOCK".

Re: Jewelry gold silver OMG a bag of jewelry so many firsts

There are 2 mysteries there though.

The furniture was broken up and matresses cut up and stuffing torn out. 2 rooms has lots of damage to furniture and other items. The last 2 rooms were completely untouched.

Mystery 1: I would have thought it was kids having their jollies, but seems like someone was looking for something, and seems like they found it. Would sure love to know what that was.

Mystery 2: Small mystery, but would love to know why the one ring was in 3 pieces and the necklace was broken. Could be nothing, but I bet there could be a real good story there.

I know this is not a mega find. Not super $$$ jewelry. BUT DANG..Sure my best day and one heck of a find for me.

Thank you all,

Postalrevnant
