Saturday brought the discovery of some nice finds, awesome new friends and some hot Louisiana sunshine and humidity. We were invited, after sharing one of our sites, on a hunt to a place not to far down the road. Seems it produced mostly mid 1800s. There is the possibility of some early 1800s activity there as well. A picture is worth a thousand words....here ya go........... Oil lantern top. Copper disc (making a coin??) Brass butter knife, a butt plate (CW) a rusty old knife......an ax head, a harmonica reed, three musket balls, 18?? Shield nickel (plow HAD to hit the spot where the date was , a parasol clip, a porcelain baby doll head potterry different from our colonial site and a clay marble and rubber button.
