...Out this morning at a tear down.

Bit cool this morning, started out with a hooded sweatshirt
and jacket; jacket came off, hood on sweatshirt was on and
off as day went on. Bit less than 3 hours.

No real history on the site; on a main street, was last home all the
rest is business; sure it was taken down to make a buck in
commercial sales. Just thinking built around 30's 40's not
real old.

Bit of trash but not bad for a teardown; worked the Garrett in
coin mode, helps a lot. Dug standered teardown items. Pulled
up 87 cents, 3 wheats; was hoping for silver but it was not to be.
66 dime and 67 quarter, close but not silver. Wheats were one
41 and two 50.

Did use my sand scoop at one point. Pulled up about 6 coins,
from one small trash area; made it a bit easier finding the coins.

Also picked up this, (woman thinks its' a "frog"); bit less than 2 1/2
inches across, very, VERY, sharp points made of brass, heavy.
The brass points and being heavy makes me think the woman
could be right.

Think I will hit it again when I need a hunt close to home. Came real
close on some silver. Had a good time.

all have a good un...............

That's a nice clad count. I wish you good luck when you go back. Hopefully there is some silver waiting for you to pull out.

That Frog thing. OUCH glad you didn't manage to step on that thing. Interesting...I might have to look it up tonight and see if I can figure out why they chose the name Frog instead of say BoobyTrap?

Good luck,

Stefan,
"Check for French origin"

I do not think that frog is a Czechoslovakian word
meaning French origin :P

Czech people do not like the French. ;)

Gee, I didn't know those things were called frogs. I always called them a thingamajig used for floral arranging.

Well, it was a different find, I'm glad you was able to get out and find such a thing. The clad was a nice find too.

;) RR

Hi sherm, yes that is called a frog and it is was used for floral arranging. Some of the frogs had points that held the stems and some frogs were glass and had holes in them that held stems in place. I don't know the origin of them but it was before my time so more than 49 years ago.

Ringfinder,

it is a glass frog. It's placed in the bottom of
a flower vase to hold the flowers in position.
