Hey folks, I found this item near a Civil War battlefield recently. My first impression was "farm implement" or something off a wagon. However, I found it on a steep hillside and can't imagine something like that being there, though I realize it could have been there for any number of reasons. Any thoughts on ID? Thanks!

Just got this from Creskol: "That is a side iron off of a Brewers' wagon top." Thanks Rob! That man is a walking, talking encyclopedia.

Rob and Cody (kuger) are the best I have ever seen on ag. equipment, horse tack, and cavalry relics Richard. Very unusual find. I have dug relics on steep places that I would have never guessed that a mule or horse could even stand up too. HH, Quindy.

Hey Quindy - Yeah, my wife's gonna love it hangin' on my office wall. :laughing7: I've told Rob he needs to write a book. He really knows his stuff. BTW, I enjoyed your recent article in American Digger. Just got my NSCWT today, so haven't read that article yet, but it looks interesting.
