I have decided that I am going to try most of my in town detecting by bike. I went about 7 miles from my house to the first park. I got a few coins but nothing great. The next park was super dry so I skipped that one. Then I went to a fun park closer to my house and got a very nice CTR ring. Not bad and I get to keep the gas rebate.

I can only ride, so if not with my Dad it's on the bike. Doesn't slow me down...

Not sure how it is in your neighborhood but I think that folks around here would drive to their mailbox if the car were not further away. :)

Nice Ring.

Like CRUSADER I do most of my detecting via 2 wheels, and peddal power. After the first few trips in spring I'm good for considerable distance. 30 miles common.

PS I like fenders.

Thanks. That is my commuter bike. Been averaging just over 100 miles a week on it. In the best shape I have been in 20 years.

Yes it is a brand new Specialized Sirrus. I just got it 8 weeks ago and I have 890 miles on it. Much better commuter than the mountain bike I was using last year. I also have a road bike, but I find it squirrly on the rural roads I ride on most of the time.
