Hunted the site again where the George Washington buttons came out of and hit one more plain button that was it, for now. I asked permission months ago to hunt a new field and was told yes, sweet words. I was waiting for the first plowing so I went and checked on the field it was done and as smooth as a babies bottom. The seated love token is a real looker. The badge has the name, P. Localex with a star and the badge number 24, cool beans.I will have to do some research and find out the who and when. The decorative piece that looks like a bow tie might of been for a shoe or horse related. Its 2 5/8 wide with a hook on the back. The arrow head wouldnt take a cleaning, odd. Three little Indians, another Conductors button with the backmark, NEWARK AM Button CO. A eagle button with stars, Navy? The field is barely touched with lots of acres to cover and time is short. I will be back at the site on Monday with SouthJerseyJim and Goldirocks. Nothing like a new field. Arty

Now THATS some cool finds!!!........
It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.

Great stuff! Nice early seated and a love token that is beautifully engraved! Not sure about the bowtie piece, but leather decoration most likely. The tag is perhaps a train luggage tag. Local? Express? Either way, that's a cool find too. P.S.--the eagle button looks like a 3 piece general staff to me, but I'd like to see a close-up.

Very nice digs Arty, the one piece you found looks alot like a piece I found awhile back.It also came from a site that had the era finds you seem to be digging.I thought funiture related.I still think my piece is..... But now I wonder if it had a mount like yours or not? I thought mine was the back to a drawer pull but I've put all kinds of drawer pommels to the hole and none fit through it all are to big even my smallest one.So mabe it had a mount like yours there. At least it's another way for me to look at it.Do you think the mount piece on yours would come out It's hard for me to tell in your pics.
Take Care,
Pete,
