I say Hmmmm every time I go out. These are just a few examples.

This first little piece of metal almost got tossed as scrap. Until I made out the eagle and shield. Any ideas?

Then, I got this "junk" ring. Just look at it! It HAS to be junk, right?

But, then,

It's unmarked, so did they EVER set them in this type method???? ;)

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

At least I got a thumbs up in the field. ;)

Hope you enjoyed and thanks for peeking.

Item 1 looks like a mid 19th century shako plate (military hat emblem).

Cool.

Good mix of finds. Too bad on the fake gold ring. Guess a lot of brass rings were marked as gold back then. Awesome Peace dollar though! Might be a 1922

I agree, top item is most likely what's left of a shako plate. I've seen lots of those plated rings posted on detecting forums. I guess a lot of people got ripped off long ago. The ear ring is fake. Fake pearl most likely glued in. Cool Peace dollar by the way. and your Mickey item is old, probably late 30's

My apologies.

Senior moments, you know.

Here's a five dollar gold piece to make up.

(I know, I know, but somebody has to give him something to correct! ;) )
