Always Practice Safe Detecting, You Never Know What You'll Find

Went out today with my buddies, Hi-Ho-Silver and the Tone Ranger.
We had a great time despite the near 100 degree weather.
Found several good coins throughout the day.
The dig included several interesting stories. A previous metal detector's hole was identified by a small circle of dead grass. The Tone Ranger called me over to hear what he though was an "Indian" sound right over the previous plug. Sure enough, I agreed. He pulled the plug out and pin-pointed the bottom of the hole. The pin-pointer went off. Turns out, the coin was an Indian at 6", which was repeatable on our machines. The person who had found the signal the first time did not have a pin-pointer. :BangHead: Next, Hi-Ho-Silver had a good copper sounding signal at a park. The object was not a coin and turned out to be a d*** from a copper statue. Hi-Ho proceeded to yell, BOOM BABY. We joked about how American Diggers could get 1000$ for this item. Ha.

Wheats: 1910, 1913 D, 1918 S, 1920 D, 1921, 1940, 1941 S, 1945, 1950, 1950 D
Indians: 1879, 1889, 1901, 1903, 1906
1954 Rosie, 1920 D Merc, 1903 Barber
Up to 21 Indians for the year!

Also found several old square nails, an Indian, a lipstick container, a Chinese coin, a ring, and a skeleton key door lock.

Good digs. Yes, watch your probe when sticking it in unfamiliar holes out there!

Just cleaned up the coins. Thanks for the ID on the valve stem. We can't wait to go again when the weather shapes up.
