Totaled up my clad for the summer and fall so far. The totals were...

TOTALS:

PENNIES - 300 - $3.00
NICKELS - 44 - $2.20
DIMES - 124 - $12.40
QUARTERS - 147 - $36.75
HAVES - 0 - $0.00
DOLLARS - 3 - $3.00

*** 618 ... $57.35 ***

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think i can buy around 20 walking liberty half dollars with this money. Or maybe 6 morgan dollars. Or 40 standing liberty quarters, or 80 mercury dimes, or tons of buffaloes and wheats. I cant decide. THANKS FOR LOOKING!!!

Congrats on a nice season of clad.

Good idea to keep cashing it all in for silver and better coins. It's not like coins are going down in price. It's a good investment for the future.

Thanks Diggininman! Thanks Hardy!

My back is ok, a little sore though. My knees are really banged up and covered in dirt. ;D

All worth it though! Thanks for the replies!

If you are looking at it for fun, not profit, go for the bunch of silver and start a collection. If you want something that will be worth something in the future, spend it all on one coin, the best you can get for the price.

Good going on the clad- it all adds up! ;D

Heheheh! You can do anything you want, its your money, LOL! :D

But as a general rule, if you want something nice that will appreciate in value, go for the finer coins. For two reasons-

High end coins appreciate in value quicker.

Its easier to sell one high end coin than 50 junk coins.

What're you into? I like Morgans personally- but they are spendy for rarer high end coins. For 57 bucks you could probably get a VF 1857 or 1858 Flying Eagle cent, another one of my favorites. Lincoln cents are always good for appreciation, too. Everybody usually starts with Lincolns. You could pick up a EF 1914s for your money, or a 1915 D in Au, a 1931S in a lower grade,or a 1924D in VF30.

Variety coins are gaining in popularity, so a decent shape two feather Buffalo nickel would be good, too. I cherrypicked one the other day for 5 bucks, its worth 50!

Anyways, pick up the best you can afford in denominations that are well collected and you can't go wrong.

Have fun at the show! :)

Nice totals CC! You might consider getting yourself some gold coins, by the time you are an old man their values will be astronomical compared to what you paid now. I've bought several with my clad. HH, Mike
