Thanks. I was surprised how well it cleaned up also. I read Buckleboys post on cleaning and preserving buttons.

Huh, you answered a question, or mystery, for that matter. My grandfather had one of these, among others, in an old box. He didn't work for the railroad, but I remember that exact button in the box. We could only look at them, not touch.

I have been trying to do some research to figure the age of the button.

That is an awesome button! No doubt, the B&O RR is one of the oldest RR's in America, and this is just another great relic rescued! That is beatiful! Congrats!:thumbsup:
