Last Friday I hunted a somewhat hidden and not very exciting county park out in the country. The park only had one shelter house, and the ground around that was literally full of shredded cans and bottle caps. After a little while, the place was starting to look like a dud. The last area that I detected was around the edge of the parking lot, where I finally found a few coins (nothing older than 1965) and a ring. The ring has a cut out of an angel, and has “ GG 825” stamped inside. I also found an ID plate that saids Chapman, 1989, POL NU.

This was my first ring find ever, so that was pretty cool!

Shortly after posting this, I found this link to what appears to be this exact same ring. Guardian Angel Rings and Jewelry

Looks like its sterling silver, although the 825 designation stamped inside says that this is low grade silver. For $10 brand new, I wouldn't expect much! However, this still would make this ring my first silver find and ring find in one!

it seems like hunting around the edges of pavement, parking lots, patios, sidewalks........that all seems to be a good area, things get caught in the edges. I just hate reinforced concrete because it makes my detector go crazy (at pro), anyone else have issues with reinforced concrete?

Mine likes the rebar too. You can get closer if you turn down the sensitivity.
