That looks like a make up thing not a buckle. But hey I don't know.

I sure don't know either, but it did appear to have some remnants of what looked like cloth around the open end. (shrug)
I have to take my detector out for a walk every now & then. If I don't, it starts leaving little piles of pull tabs all over the house!!

It's there,you just gotta look for it!
WHADIFIND, An old compact for sure,I find a LOT of em,and,that was a real pretty box,still cool though,Victorian period. God Bless Chris

The box was a surprise find. It was buried pretty deep and under a thick root. Too bad it wasn't whole.
