large cent

do you recall my post "school boys coin collection" well i've found a
large cent 1844 but it's got this black stuff on it,

Wow Dav, that's a very nice LC, excellent condition too, you should be very careful in how you try to get that black stuff off, could ruin the coin.

i dunno dave, i think i would leave that one as it is. it has character, and is in pretty good shape .

That is a really nice looking coin,I wouldnt do a thing to it looks wonderful,the soil in your area is very kind to the old copper,get back out there and find the seated coins there must be one close.
