Found these in a neigbors front yard earlier this summer, gave them to the owner and just recently got pictures of them (forgot to take pics before I returned the medals). Her father was in the Army stationed here on the island and was also overseas. The first is an Army of Occupation medal dated 1945, which was given to all troops stationed in Japan after its surrender. The second is an 8th infantry regiment badge of which her father was in.(Thanks to replies on the What is it page here, I can now say what it is...:) ) Not sure how they got lost, probably one of the kids took them and lost them, however she was extremely thrilled and grateful to have them back. Both were within 10 ft of each other and down about 6 inches.

Great medals. I hope to find some of the WWII or older medals someday. Some of them were really cool. Greatly designed for sure.

Congratulations. You certainly have had some great digs and kind returns this year.
