earlier this year I found an English hallmarked ring dated 1888
and that was my oldest
this one beats it by 10 yrs
got to wonder if it was lost long ago or passed down and then lost
a few old objects were found in the same area - I found a USA Continental Rev War button about 100 yrds away
no karat mark but looks like 18k or better
I might have found older rings - but this is the oldest dated one - so far

nickname: Eagle Four-Eyes
So, how long before you track down the owner? LOL
Really nice find!
I have to take my detector out for a walk every now & then. If I don't, it starts leaving little piles of pull tabs all over the house!!

Awesome ring Casper.I've never found a ring that old but my best ring find was a karet and a half diamond, found when they did sea wall restoration 6 or 7 years ago. Happy hunting.

I dont own a gold test kit - friend does if I want to have it tested - Im guessing 18k or better from its color and weight
no plans to sell - it will go in one of my display cases - till I find an older one
