Hi all, my partner and I went hunting for places to hunt yesterday and I think we hit the jackpot.

We found this place and got permission from the owner to hunt the site and What a Site it is!!!

Yesterday and today I found Six Washington quarters, 1944, 1948,1953, 1953, 1957 D, 1957 D,
6 Mercury dimes 1917, 1919, 1941, 1943, 1945 D, and 1945, 7 Roosevelt's 1946, 1948,
1952 D, 1952, 1952, and 1953 D, 2 1943 P War nickels and 3 Buffalo nickels 1936, 19?, 19?. I also found 57 Wheat pennies and lots of clad coins.

My parter did very well also, finding 5 silver quarters including 1 barber quarter dated 1900. I don't have the dates of his other coins. I do know he found 4 buffalo nickles and just as many silver dimes.

Wow, what a great two days. Not sure if we can bend over for a day or two haha. We can't wait to return to this site.

HH, all and hope your weekend of detecting is great also. Ringfinder

P.S. My partner and I just retired in July and it really is hard to tell what day it is anymore. Man I love this hobby.

Ringfinder,

Holy crap, nice finds! I'd consider even one or two of those a great day. By the way, I need to order about 2000 yards of fill dirt. Can you let me know the name of the guy who owns the property?

That's almost as good as our Iceberg. ;D Now you have to come up with a name for the place since you will be hunting it regularly.

Seems like most of the buffalo nickels if they have a date are 1936 or 1937.... I did find a 1923-S Buffalo today. :)

Would be nice to retire and have a buddy to metal detect with. You are living the good life! ;)

Hi all, thanks for all the replies. First off, I don't think the guy wants to sell any land for fill, if he does I'll be the first to buy some. haha.

Mirage, those pesky buffalo's are so darn hard to read, your 1923 s would be a neat find especially when you can read the date. Have you ever found any hobo buffalo nickels. I have a couple, but found them many years ago.

Zoso, I do live in Ohio. Thats about all I'm saying haha.

Last but not least, this winter you guys get to the museum's, libraries and pick the brains of the older folks, trying to find your hot spot. It's out there you just have to look for it. Most of the really good places aren't going to just land in your lap, you have to work for them.

Good Luck all and I can't wait to get back to my Silver Mine!! HH Ringfinder
