Curious though, how deep was the colonial?

I have to take my detector out for a walk every now & then. If I don't, it starts leaving little piles of pull tabs all over the house!!

Very. I Pushed in about 8 to 9 inches popped out a plug
& Had to go deeper to get at it.
It's very thin & as you can probably see has a Greenish tone.
I Don't think by thiness & the fact I Can't ID the face that it can be a US coin.

Since My last trip here produced a 1735 half Penny just a short distance north of it.

was also right there, As Was the Keffer Tavern & Saw mill History of Schuylkill County, Pa: with illustrations and biographical ... - W.W. Munsell & Co - Google Books I'm convinced Colonial

    Me too Greg !
Downsides there is about a foot layer of soft Coal Dust just below the grass that covers the entire site.
everything sinks in it. even the memorials averaged 4 to 5 inches.
we used 2 Etracs & My Explorer, and 3 different coils, and getting accurate signals was impossible.
    repeatable signals were rare.
I was able to guess fairly accurately on most of my digs whether they would be
round or not, but the only solid tones came from the large trash targets.

    Thanks again all !

I'm not great with colonial copper IDs but just going off that ribbon on left side of bust if you flip the pic around

This would explain the layered look some of it had in the field
    when we were inspecting it.

    Thanks again
