A few recent relics

Summer has been crazy and the crops have kept me from the relics for he most part but i got out a few times in the last while. here are a few shots of the relics. i scored the eagle button with my daughter along with bullets and round balls. I gave the eagle button to my buddy Matt. Also got a shell frag and my first cannon gimlet (or whats left of it), Still a cool peice

Also found this clipped Indian Head penny hiding in the bottom of my pouch from god knows when. Kinda cool Almost thought it was a counterfiet dollar!

I know those Gimlets were used in Artillery but they were also used for many other things like puncturing leather....I have found several and guarantee there was no cannons in use on the sites

very true. however its a good argument that it was artillery related when shell fragments and case shot come from the ground all around it. lol
