Got a couple keepers before asked not to dig anymore
Hello, I'm kind of new at posting although have been visiting this site for a couple years. This morning I went to an old victorian home that I have visited at least 6 times before, with homeowners permission. The owner has lifted the home and dug and repoured the basement! This means the yard is a mess and piles of dirt everywhere. I have found 4 silver dimes all rosies 1 indianhead penny, and a couple tokens. The best find was a 10k mens ring with black onyx and a 1/4 karat diamond. My first gold of the year. Anyway I arrived this morning and was informed by the husband that the wife didnt want me there anymore because she doesn't want anyone there digging and because of liability ect ect. I gratiously thanked him several times and told him I would give him a couple coins that I have doubles of for his Autistic son who just loves coins. I then went to a friends house in town and managed to find 2 silver rosies and 2 wheats and 2 indianhead pennies 1899 and 1900 Wish all of you luck hunting! Love this website!!

When the going gets wierd, the wierd turn pro....
Sucks about losing your spot, but at least you got to dig it for a while. I've been staring at a similar deal with a big house getting raised for a while, but have never managed to catch anyone there....
"That's me, on the beach side combing the sand, metal meter in my hand, sporting a pocket full of change"...... NOFX
Now in the process of posting my antique photo collection at : http://forgottonimages.tumblr.com/

Welcome to t-net! Wish ya hadn't lost your spot but really glad you found similar coins at your friend's place. I've been detecting beaches and public land for 18 months but haven't yet dug on private property. There's some wonderful old victorian houses in my area so someday I'll probably get my nerve up to ask. Best of luck on finding more gold! Andi

Bad to hear that you lost your site to hunt. It happened to me as well. However, I waited a while and happen to run into the property owner and regained my permission. Maybe wait and try him/her again? Good luck!!
