    Beach and Shallow Water Hunting

    Question What's with these spoons?

These two spoons are beach welded together...i understand that....but what is with that strange extra bit of metal coming off the middle of the bottom one? It is not something that was added later by beach wear and tear....

possibly a place to hang it on, like a notch stick. The spoons look ornamental , think I saw similar hanging on a kitchen wall once and the extra knot on spoon was where nail was holding it wedged up at. Or I could be totally wrong, just a guess.

Im pretty sure that would be to hang it on the edge of the pot.
