Newb to the MD thing
Looks similar to a small vintage Crouse Hinds explosion proof lamp lens. Would be common in an industrial area, not so much in a rural setting.

Ditto, and does it have any letters/numbers on it? maybe another photo looking inside. Is it complete or anything broken off?

I thought car because in the 60's someone put a line of 5 or 6 cars from the 40's or 50's as a breakwater on the beach.
