What an awesome trip we had this weekend! We found a bunch of clad naturally and some junk. I had a extremely strong signal on one item. I dug, and dug, and dug, about 8 inches down I pull out that huge looking chunk of metal you see in the second pic. It must weigh at least 30 pounds and is Solid Brass!!! Not too far from there, we found smashed bottles galore. We did a total of 3 areas, 2 parks and a section of the river where we found bottles and the huge brass piece. I found my first Gold ring, 18k White gold band 4.7g!! I was overjoyed that my AT Pro has finally out-shined the wife and her Ace 350......Wouldn't ya know it...she digs out a Sterling ring with a red stone in it! Ahh maybe next week

To the pics!
Our Clad and some various junk. I saved some pull-tabs in order to date our sites we are digging.

The junk and bottle shards. The huge 30lb or so Brass thing.

Heres all the Various shards and a couple of bottles that were not broken. All the China shards date to late 1800s. The Milwaukee WI bottle shard dates to 1900s, the Grain Belt Beer bottle dates to around 1910 i think. Theres a Moonshine bottle shard? A Boyds Porcelain lined Cap.

Great Finds! Way To Go! I believe the porcelain piece you found is from an old house that was wired in the early days when they use "Knob And Tube" ways of wiring. The piece you have is used when the wire had to pass through a stud or joist. The other piece was the knob and was used to stand the wire off of the timber used in the home. Hope this helps.
