The farm fields are starting to open being plowed now a few good finds .

A friend stopped by my place and said the potato farmers are diggin taters did i want to try a short hunt before dark set in i said heck yea !! grabbed my gear a soda and drove a mile to the farm , i found a few good finds
1905 V Nickle in pretty good shape for a coin in the ground 100+ years and a Buffalo nickle no date ,some kind of thimble copper ? a tiny flat button and to my SURPRISE !!! a huge heavy flat thick coin NOPE darn it was a piece of lead fooled the heck out of me not bad for a short hunt before dark going back later after Johnny plows up a few long rows of potato,s a very large field , in the past i have found lots of KGII coppers and lots of old buttons . Good hunting Jim Click image for larger version.

Strange looking thimble, possible homemade? I'd love to see another photo or two of it.

    Cheers,

Great finds. The corn in our area is starting to be harvested and can't wait to start hitting the fields again.
