I know this post will just disappear into page 87 by tomorrow, but I figure the few of you who actually care about colonial stuff should see what I have found recently in MA.

On the left are 2 Connecticut coppers(1787).

On the right we have 2 Woods Hibernia Halfpennies(1722-1724).

I found them all within a week, and all on the same farm I have been working. 3 came from 1 field, and one came from an old trail adjacent a field.

Notice the old hoe. It's an oldie for sure!

Enjoy.

Nice. You sure that's not a fairway you're on? Can't see the flag but it's got to be down there somewhere. ;-)
The sharp tool at the top looks to be part of something else. Interesting.

It's a hay field. It may look like a golf course, but it does get tall over time!

Yeah that sharp thing is a mystery. Everyone always asks about it. Heavymetalnut suggested that it could have been part of a tool to make holes in leather straps.

Really awesome finds. If you allready know ignore it, but the triangluar piece at the bottom right is the tooth off a header for cutting grain or hay, could be really old, or could be new, they havent changed much for a hundred years. It make sense you would find one in a hay feild lol!

Good ole Massachusetts finds! What part of Mass are you in? I'm in Northern/Western (not northwestern)

South Central MA, right on the CT border.

Yes it certainly is, especially when the hay is harvested and it's easy swinging.

That pic of the field is actually from a month ago, it's all cut and not as green now... but still a beautiful place to be.

Just beautiful coins. Love the old stuff. Your correct that most guys care for clad and jewelry finds here any more and this thread will fall to the bottom fast.
