Confederate VA State Seal Button~Rare Backmark!
Finally received permission to detect a Confederate Generals homesite. Tried a year ago, they finally granted me permission this past week!
Found the button near the front yard. Property owners told me that General Lee had stayed there once as well!
Back marked "Benedict-Burnham"! 22mm Dented, but the shank is in place and I'm happy with this find!!
Thanks for looking!

congrats on the VA button! I've been detecting for over a year now, all in spots with heavy CW action and have only found two State Buttons (NY State). Congrats on getting a Confederate state button, definitely high on my wish list!
