    1787 Fugio Cent and more

Skunemonk and I are out at an old farmhouse estate for first time and not finding much then I get a text (it's a big property) "holy crap I think I have a chain cent!)...well not quite, but a good find. Chain was too big, it's a Fugio...here are his other finds including a trigger guard (any idea of the gun or how old?)...part of candle snuffer, small silver ring and an Erie Railroad luggage tag (that railroad was back to the 1800s in the area and the last train went through about 1980). I got shut out on finds, but was a good day anyway.

That Fugio Cent is a real trophy few and far between. I also think that the luggage tag is real cool. Congrats

I'm thinking that Fugio cent should make BANNER - they are a rare and early find , predating regular federal issue U.S. coins by 5 years !
If anybody here can argue as to why this should not be banner material, please enlighten me ! you got my vote ! Argentium.

I'm not sure if it qualifies because the finder is not the one who posted it. That is an awesome coin though!

Can you describe that ring a little more? Age?

Hey bergie, Thanks for posting pics. Lots of deep signals at that house and roots. I would not even have gotten the fugio if i didnt have small branch cutters with me. Thanks for the idea earthworks, saw you had one in your gear, when i finally got the coin out from under the roots i wasnt sure what i had but new it was a good find with those 13 chain links. Not in the best shape but still a good historic find. All in all it was a good day, not alot of finds but some real good ones.

Hey testing 123. The ring is a small silver band with dots and triangles punched into it. It looks old to me but how old? No marks inside.
