I had been working a colonial site for a few weeks whenever I had a couple hours here and there.
Noteable coins were: KG II copper, KG II farthing, KG III farthing, William copper 1701, 1 reale 1773, 2 reale 1778.
Also found a number of artifacts including a few toasted coppers, a naval flat button, 1812 period eagle button, very old sterling ring, and the whole back of a sterling hand mirror (minus the handle).
Pictured are the 2 reale 1778 and the William copper 1701. This is by far the best condition Spanish silver I have ever found. The copper, not only one of my oldest, was in better condition than most comming out of the Connecticut soil!
Thanks for sharing.

Both coins are a great find in any condition! You got lucky with the Spanish Silver being dropped early in its life. The copper is the result of what must be kind soil. Congrats on two great finds!!

Both are in great condition, especially the KW III. Looks and sounds like a great site.

The dirt sure was kind to those!

If you didn't realize the As in Britannia are actually inverted Vs, which is a known variety for the 1701. It doesn't really change the value on a dug coin, but it does make it a little better detecting find.
