We spent about 2 hours finishing the new & small Roman Site (10 coins). We then spent just over 2 hours in the next field which had more coins than we expected.

Complete Crotal Bell with 'reverse' Makers Mark.
18th C Clog Hasp (first of this type I have seen)
Roman Bracelet Fragment
Fossil
Possible Flintlock Flint?
27 Roman Bronze Coins

1 early (over 6g's) Follis of Constantine I (our first of this type & good nick as well)
A nice Probus
Plus something Dad read about last night but we have never seen until today - A Constantine II period Coin with a AD350s 'overstrike' of the soldier spearing fallen horse. However, it has a barbarous front facing head which we have never seen & would normally date post AD390s.:icon_scratch: Maybe a triple strike, but whatever it is, its very unusual & therefore an Album Coin.:icon_thumright:

Crusader,

Again a nice mix of Roman finds.....I'm assuming the US memorial cent is in there for size comparison and not as one of your prized finds....lol.

Yes, specially on picture 1 with the coin piece on top that weighed less than 0.1g. That was so thin, I couldn't feel it whilst squishing the wet mud/clay. The XP on my settings don't miss much!

Cru, how far from home are you going to get to these places? Sure there's not a signal in the ground within a couple miles of your house! Lol! By the way, great hunt!

I started less than 5 minutes cycle away but have mopped up most of that land over 10 years of detecting (in this area), now we drive (car) about 25 minutes (to this land) & the furthest 50 minutes drive away. This is targetted hunting, the myth that any field is full of history is not even close.

Crusader,

Impressive.....probably the best I do in my area is about .5 grams on smaller finds....you really have to be on your game to find items at 1/10 gram......congratulations!

The tiny pieces the XP finds are so small that the pinpointers can't find them.
