Today I did another 1.5 hours on the Church Field. Buttons keep showing up including a very nice silver gilt button with some sort of design. I think the round piece is a ball that would be screwed onto the end of a steers horn. The 1930 Buffalo Nickel is the best condition I have ever dug. The heart stopper for the day was a good signal with gold in the bottom of the hole, right in PRIME colonial house site property! I HATE AVON:BangHead:

Thanks for lookin'

Nice button.
It certainly looks like an "OX KNOB" but they usually have a hex (nut) milled on them to facilitate tightening them up ?

it's just a different style of ox knob Rick.they have the threads inside and a small hole or 2 on the sides.I think this style is older than the hex head types.in any case they are kind of a dissapointment thinkin ya got a coin when they surface :O(
