Found my first 1700's U.S coin...she's a little toasty, but that's ok!

Went out after work today and didn't find anything other than nails. As I'm leaving I walk down the fence line and reading at a 71-74 on the F75 at only a whopping 2 inches down was this 17--? Draped Bust large cent. She's pretty toasty unfortunately, but it is my first 1700's U.S coin so I'll take her! You can just BARELY make out the 7, but it's there! HH

Probably a bit more likely to find a 1700s KG or Spanish silver than a US coin. Either way, a great find and congrats!

Definitely. I have found 7 1700's coins this year, 3 spanish silver, 1 german silver, 1 NJ state Copper and 1 KGII and only one of them a U.S. coin. I don't really count the NJ copper as a U.S coin. I think my cousin or myself WILL eventually turn up a 1700's silver U.S coin from here. I can feel it!

See the 7 at the end? Maybe I'm seeing things.

Great coin!! I have one 1798 that I dug a few years ago. Hopefully you are right about the 1700's silver showing up:icon_thumleft:

Nothing would surprise me at this point from this property. I think the best has yet to come...and we have found a lot of good things. Thanks for looking.
