A pistol is still on my wish list. Looks like the one item is a little large for a bullet mold, is it a pair of froze up nippers? Perhaps hoof nippers for trimming critters feet?

Thanks to everyone who responded with the kind words and Kudos! And yes, I am living up to my avatar name by digging the iron, it is sometimes my best finds for an outing!!

Kuger - On the C. S. Sentinel forum CMD dawg said the gun looked like it might be a gun made by Wesson Harrington. He had found one similar. I found some similar in my Flayderman's guide to antique firearms but not any with that short of a barrel. Thanks Kuger!

BosnMate - Yes, when I first pulled it out of the ground I was all giddy because I thought it was another bullet mold! But to my dismay it was not. I do believe you are right however, that was and still is my impression as it being a hoof nipper. Where the two heads meet looks like they may have been pretty sharp at one time.

BuckleBoy - Thanks for the kudos and encouragement!

Bavaria Mike - I do not see any markings. No, there is no lead in the cylinder either. Here is a pic. of a cylinder to a .44 cal. Colt Army revolver with a round ball still in it.
