After detecting a roman villa site last week without much success i started gridding the outlaying area. I got the biggest horse harness mount to date, a big barrel tap, one of the smallest buttons and a tiny weight. Some whatsits (may Cru can chime in) especially the bicycle key shaped bronze thingy... :icon_scratch:

Coins are quite modern, starting with a 1856 Silbergroschen up to a WWII 2 Pfennig.

If the break is solid metal & not a thin piece of iron, then it looks to be a 14th C Purse Bar, well nearly half of it. (& yes these were big, shame about the contents)

Third picture down on left, is that a pyramid shaped bell :icon_scratch: it's Roman if it is. Would be Interesting to see the back of the square thing on the right picture second down...outherwise quite a busy day you had.
Sometimes the villa sites can chuck stuff out all day long, and outher times they can be as tough as hell.

I looked at some pics and it could be... It't solid bronze with decorations on both sides.

Unfortunatly no bell. Looks like remains from casting bronze. The square thing was attached to something, maybe ring or so.

They are all (never seen one that isn't, other than plain ones) decorated on both sides. It has a 14th C look to it, with the right terminal piece & the thicker centre piece. The only thing that lets it down is the lack of suspension loops/holes.
