UPDATE: First barber! Gilt eagle button & more!!!!

UPDATED: Hello all! Went field hunting today for about 6 hours. What a great day to be out! Got my first Barber dime, 1907!!! Also got a gilt eagle button with a lot of the gilt left on it! (Also a first)
UPDATE: The Decorative What is it is part of a padlock. The Smith Durham is off a pair of overalls. The What the Heck is it item is actually a Whiffletree tip off of a buggy or carriage (see image Sears & Roebuck catalog 1895 image just added below, Thanks CannonballGuy!!!) The other item is a rivet. Thanks everyone for the help on IDing! Thanks for looking and HH!!! Picture 5.png Picture 6.png

What is it? It looks like a old faucet handle. Either hot or cold water.

Not to be negative, but I throw that stuff in my scrap barrel.

I found one of your "what the heck is it" pieces and someone ID'd it as a flag pole topper. Seemed better than any other guess I've seen!

The one small brass piece with 2 round ends is a rivet.

You should recheck your scrap barrel.

The larger brass piece with the two hole is a civil war era brass flag pole top. It is a very nice find and were commonly lost durning the hard campaigns of the war.

Nice finds Josh. The attribute of the item being a flag pole stopper is dead on. See pix below. Both may be toppers but the one could be a handle to an old faucet. It aligns with the CW wreath buckle you found a couple weeks ago. As for Cahil just ignore him. Knowing what you find is part of the fun of MD'n. Throwing away what you don't know is a big mistake.

Thanks Jim, you're right. If I don't know what it is, it doesn't go in the scrap pile until I know it's junk. CannonballGuy actually got me a great ID on this, not a flag pole topper but still cool. It's actually a Whiffletree tip off of a carriage or buggy (Sears Roebuck 1895 Catalog) Picture 5.png Picture 6.png
