Early Navy Button Need ID

I dug this navy button a couple of weeks ago at one of my friend Bill Dancy's colonial sites on the Virginia Peninsula. It is cuff size and has no back mark. I was thinking British Navy maybe 1812 era, but its not in any of my books. If anyone can identify it I would be appreciative.

Evan - it looks like Silver Searcher's ID is correct. Check out the link below for similar buttons that are for sale. They don't have the same nice green patina as yours, but I do believe it's a match. Glad I could put you onto at least one good find during your visit. You definitely got your obligatory flat button.

Plus the worst 'set' I have seen. not even close.
