Ye Olde Sled Trail

My last time out was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
I went to a place I was only at once before with no luck and an area that hosted an old kid's sled trail back in the day.
The kids do not sled down the hill anymore, as there is a road now at the very bottom that was put in I would say in the 60's.
So for safety reasons they don't.
I did not manage much, the old golf tee was neat. I forgot all about those.
Did get a broken spoon handle, a beat up wheat, some change, and a 1924 merc that was right near a hot rock (pictured).

Anyway, I am calling it a season.
It was a great year. Going to clean up all my clad and take it to the bank, and buy some silver pieces with it.

You couldn't get me out there now with a crane and a brand new detector.
Hope the Holiday season is good to all of you.
See you in the Spring! :hello:

Neither Rain, Sleet nor Snow, will keep me from hunting. I might hunt less, but not stop. But then I don't live where snow gets that much in my way. :laughing7:

Neat finds, copper/brass piece looks like a finial from a old gas lamp. Found a similar one recently.

Yep, kind of at that point here in Wi also. I am near cash-in time also. We should start an entry on how much people's clads added up for the season.

I've never seen a metal golf tee like that. Must have done a number on club heads back then. Nice Merc and other finds!

Is that hot rock made of coal? I often find pieces of coal that sets off my pin pointer and drive me nuts.
