Today me and Bubba went detecting at a 1750 home site. We did a walk around the field and located a foundation of another house and lots of pottery shards from the 17 and 18 hundreds. Mixed in with the pottery shards were 2 pieces of confirmed Native American pottery. My best non ferrous signal was a brass toe plate. My second best relic was the valve out of my spigot that I found 2 days ago. It was about 200 feet from where I dug the body of the spigot. I also got a few random pieces of brass. One of them is a harmonica reed, the other two are unconfirmed. I also found an interesting pewter cast hollow bodied animal of some sort. I have never seen anything like it but I am sure that it is old. Lastly I would like to share the picture of the button that Bubba found 2 days ago. Is broken in half but it must have been done a long time ago because when he dug it up it was already in 2 pieces. The button is from the Bingham School in Mebane North Carolina and is depressed channel, raised letter style backmark.
