5 hours for a Penny!

Started yesterday at 8 a.m. at our Boyce spot and realized pretty quick that this place is starting to get hunted out. Worked over on the other side of the property and a buddy was already there and he had just found a weird three ringer, long and about a 52 cal., with a gardener looking base? Then he showed me an amazing 1831 HALF DIME! Wow i couldn't believe it, gave him a big congrats then headed off. So after seeing that it really put a flame under me to find a silver too, still trying to get my first with the AT PRO. 4 hours later, no silver and a lot of trash, ready to leave still swinging as i go i hit a solid 75 on the AT PRO and dug my 5th Indian for the year/total. Also found 2 two piece buttons, no markings on them so i have no idea what or how old they are. Thanks for looking and HH!

An Indian for 5 hrs + a button or 2 - not too bad - I'm dealing with 29 degrees, high winds (25 to 35 mph) and snow, so I can't even hunt rgt now!

An Indian Head always makes my day. Congrats! It is painfully obvious this site is not producing like it once did. Well, 9 months man. It was certainly a good run while it lasted. Time to start scouting out for a new site! Hopefully the next will be a virgin site like this one has been.

Sounds like one of my meanderings around the mansion. Last time out I think I only got 1 penny too. About 5 hours work.

Kind of makes it alright when that "penny" is the right kind, ain't it.

Thanks guys, the IH sure did make my day! Maybe 2013 will bring me more quantity of old coins! But I am Very Pleased with my quality of coins i found this year!
