My buddy Dan & I went back to our new site again yesterday for one last hunt before the end of the world. Fortunately, we survived and will be able to revisit this site again soon. After roaming around looking for a new hotspot for the first half of the day we eventually settled in to hunt a rather large and productive area littered with iron and early brick we had discovered at the end of our first visit. And it did not disappoint as we were digging targets all afternoon, and most of them were colonial. Had a great time in spite of the cold and windy conditions. By the way, if any of you colonial experts can ID the item in the last pic it would be greatly appreciated. It's some type of jewelry or adornment that I've seen before in my reference books, and can't seem to put a finger on it, but I know it dates to the 1600s. Unfortunately its rather mangled, and due to its brittle state I've opted to leave it as is. Thanks for any help.

Great mix of buttons. You definately hae a lot of 18th century buttons. The ones with backmarks are 19th century.

That piece is just a pin or brooch and not as old as many of the other finds.

Well, with that many buttons there should be some nice coins and other keepers hiding in there. Nice haul!
