What with the weather doing as it has been, I just wasn't up to playing in the mud today. So, instead, to get my "fix", I went through some long put off cleaning of the attic. I came across this one box that I had to struggle to remember from whence it came? I recalled that this was one of a couple boxes of misc items I found in an old, abandoned building. It was 90 percent collapsed. A shed or out-building of some sort. I remember I was too afraid to pry around in it for fear of crashing the rest around my ears. (and or find that nest of vipers! :( )

The owner of the property said it was there when they bought the place and was scheduled for dozing very shortly as they were going to build a garage there. I asked if it was alright for me to poke around a bit and they said sure and have at it, but not to go inside and to take whatever I wanted. Well, I wasn't going in there, that was for sure! The corner that was left standing was leaning and only about 4 feet off the ground! :)

Now, ya gotta remember, I was brand new at this digemup hobby and a pure neophyte when it came to seeing possibilities! If I knew 1 tenth what I know now, I would have offered to doze the place myself! :)

Anyway, this box is the only one left I hadn't been through since waaaaaaay back then! So, like the proverbial kid in a candy store, I started to check the contents ONE - ITEM - AT - A - TIME! LOL ! I really have ONLY just started digging and unfortunately, it's not a very big box. Still, below is a sample of some of the things I'm finding in there.

Todays finds:

The outside of the book is pretty bad, but the contents have weathered the time well. IMHO.

So, whatcha think? That count? ;)

Yep, that's exactly what it is, an old, metal, bank. (no, no money in it. ;) ) Still.

Counts in my Book...Thats really cool finds...I recently went to a old farm area to detect, and found a few boxes of Popular Science from the early 50s and all in good shape...totally made my day
