All frustrated hunters, there is hope!
UPDATE: Final piece of info in my last post.
I've been on a roll lately of "interesting" finds. That's what I call them when I'm frustrated that I'm not finding a treasure chest. LOL
I hadn't even found one single silver coin this year yet!
So, today, I decided to give it a try. The weather was sunny, blue skies, not too cold. But, before I went to my school ground I decided to go check the air in the tires. A cold snap coming up and I have one with a slow leak. I was happy to find that the tire has held it's pressure for a couple weeks now. Maybe, I can sneak by a bit more. BUT.....I digress.
I pulled up to the pump, got out, shoved my money in the machine and bent down to pick up the nozzle and this is what I saw:

Now, I've seen broken glass reflecting the sun back up at me before, this was different. So, I looked a little closer:

Could it POSSIBLY be!?!?!

At this point, I didn't care. My hunt was already a success! Doesn't matter what else happens!
So, I pump up and continue to my spot. I get out, walk to the spot I wanted to start on, tuned in my detector and bingo! A very, very nice signal. On the AT-Pro, this came up as 90!!! I tried swinging different directions, it was very insistent, 90, 90, 90! I haven't had a signal this stubborn before. AND, it was less than 3 inches!! So, I dug:

My first silver coin for 2013!
My day is made.
I stayed for a while but the winds got to be so bad that for the first time in my life, a hunt was cut short due to winds! After it took my clad quarter out of my hand and blew it half way across the field, I just gave up. LOL
Here's the rest:

For the frustrated, just keep on keepin' on. It'll come.

approx. 1.5 carats
Thanks for peeking!
HH!

I have to take my detector out for a walk every now & then. If I don't, it starts leaving little piles of pull tabs all over the house!!

Hehe, love those gas station finds. Found a small diamond ear stud with back at a 7-11 one time. Keeps me looking to the ground everywhere I go now.

According to my friend's diamond detector and his expertise, it's real. He said actually more like 1.8 carats!
