Back to the small CW camp today with flyinryan2. 12 more bullets, lead, 1 button back
I met up with my cousin(flyinryan2) a little after 9 this morning and I showed him where the small camp was and where I was finding everything. I started out finding a piece of camp lead and 1 stray sharps. I went back to an area where I found a bunch of sharps and in a little area beside a tree I ended up pulling 4 sharps out of one hole. After that I pulled over 10 pieces of camp lead out of one hole. Ended up finding 12 sharps bullets total, and one button back. No brass came out of there other than the sling hook and this button back. Total bullet count for me out of this little spot makes 42 bullets and I think my cousin found over 10 bullets himself. We pretty much cleaned out all the targets that were accessible. Was hoping for a little more brass, but I'm happy to have recovered that much lead. The horse shoe is from yesterday, found beside 3 bullets. Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

Thanks man for showing me this spot! I was really hoping for some Sharps bullets since i haven't dug to many of those and i was not disappointed. I would like to go back there and try going deeper in the woods, there maybe another small camp over there?
Congrats on all the finds, your lead count already this year must be unreal!!

No problem. It seems to be EVERYWHERE, just a matter of hitting that honey hole like this one. Maybe the few stray bullets we find are from when they were walking to another spot. Just gotta find that spot! I walked pretty deep into the woods, as far as this set of woods went...not a single beep, other than shotgun casings or 30-30 casings. Not to say I hit every spot. It's never hunted out for sure.

I usually don't pick the pottery up, maybe a few pieces. I did like the design on this one so I kept it. Thanks for looking.

Me too. Never gets old for me. Some people I know will stop digging if all they are finding are bullets. Not me. That's a piece of history and I will get every one of those suckers out of the ground!

I walked down to the bottom where it opens up with locust trees and found that "pocket watch" part? But that was it, there was a ton of bottle tops down there!!

Where the small pond was? Somebody loved them some pepsi and dr. pepper back in the day. I find a lot of those closer to the lot.
