Nice digs there! I see two buttons in the top row of the group pic. Are those matching silver knee buckles I see? Can you post a better closeup of those buckles?

Fantastic finds--you've certainly stumbled onto a colonial site there. Good luck on your return trips.

Yep, looks like you have two matching silver knee buckles there based on size and shape, but they could be small shoe buckles because they are pretty robust. Can you see any maker marks on them?

That's a pretty good half hour hunt - in addition to the knee buckles I see a Virginia Halfpenny, a Connecticut or a Vermont Copper, a KG II plus your Large Cent. Spend a couple hours on that site and who knows what will turn up!

Silversmith marks. If you post close ups maybe someone can identify the silversmith.

I think the man is THOMAS BARTLEET (Silversmiths, Birmingham, UK) 1818-1821

I think 1818 is too late for those buckles. That is an earlier style buckle. Knee buckles were out of style by 1818. I would estimate 1750 to 1780 for those.

Fantastic finds there! The Virginia penny or halfpenny is great. And it is practically unheard of that someone would recover a MATCHING set of SILVER knee buckles! That is one hell of an accomplishment. You even have a nice brass musket decoration there too. Killer grouping of finds.
