    1851 UN CENTAVO (One Cent)

Went out this morning to a spot I have done a little research on. It was a mining town founded by a Mexican woman here in California. There was a natural spring flowing from the limestone rocks. In the summer miners would come from all over to wash their diggings in the spring that ran all year round. The town had a square centered around a flagpole that was supposed to be the biggest around.Click image for larger version.

All of the buildings are gone except for the old Schoolhouse. I did find a 1944 wheat and this 1851 UN CENTAVOClick image for larger version.
